Terms of use

Simple terms for a small first move.

These terms govern Sidle alongside Apple's standard licensed-application terms. They explain the free local loop, local Pro tools, optional 18+ provider AI, purchases, device-scoped records, and safety limits.

Effective 14 July 2026 · Version 1.3 candidate terms

Agreement

These terms are between you and Mitaanshu Agarwal, the seller named on Apple's product page and operator of the Uptrail brand (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Sidle, you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy, and Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Mandatory law and Apple's terms apply to the extent required.

Provider AI is for adults 18+ only

Sidle's free local loop and local Pro tools do not use provider AI. You must be at least 18 years old and give the current in-app China and sensitive-data consent before choosing optional provider AI. A parent or guardian must not enable provider AI for a minor.

Licence

Mitaanshu Agarwal grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Sidle on Apple devices you control, subject to these terms and Apple's usage rules. Sidle is licensed, not sold.

Subscriptions, trials, and lifetime

  • Apple displays the exact local price, billing period, renewal terms, taxes, and any introductory offer for which your Apple Account is eligible before confirmation.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account. We do not receive your full card or bank details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple controls billing, refunds, and the date access ends.
  • A lifetime purchase is a one-time licence to the available Sidle Pro product. Local Pro includes the local Return Bridge, in-app hello, optional on-device voice, and optional background notification.
  • Provider AI is optional, separately consented, subject to the limits below, and does not guarantee a particular third-party model or feature forever. Local Pro continues when provider AI is off, unavailable, or at its service limit.
  • Buying or restoring can reconcile an already-connected identity but cannot create a new provider profile. Only a separate, explicit Connect or Reconnect choice can create one after the current 18+ and China-processing disclosure.

Fair-use AI

Production provider AI is enabled for eligible connected users who accept the current disclosure. It remains optional and can fall back to silence for consent, safety, provider, network, allowance, or service-ceiling reasons.

Its metered service limit resets each UTC month: monthly Pro US$2.12, annual Pro US$1.24, lifetime Pro US$0.90, and an eligible trial US$1.00 of provider cost. These are service-cost limits, not money in an account, credits, a session count, or a promise of unlimited model calls.

A fleet-wide safety ceiling or provider outage may also pause provider AI. Fair-use controls do not change an active Apple entitlement: the free local loop and local Pro continue without provider AI.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you enter. Your Return Bridge (“For next time”) is saved only on your phone and is not sent to Sidle's service or DeepSeek.

If you are 18+ and explicitly enable provider AI with the current consentVersion 2 choice, you give us limited permission to process the task, first move, session context, preferred name, and latest provider note needed to provide, secure, and maintain that feature. Requests with missing, older, or withdrawn consent stay silent.

Do not enter content you do not have the right to use. Do not enter sensitive health, identity, financial, legal, workplace-confidential, or safety-critical information.

Device-scoped identity and deletion

Sidle has no login and no cross-device provider sync. If you explicitly enable provider AI, version 1.3 creates a device-scoped provider profile using Apple App Attest, a 30-minute KMS-signed access token, and an opaque rotating refresh identity held in iOS Keychain.

Raw provider-session rows are scheduled for deletion after 90 days. DeepSeek-side copies or caches are outside Sidle's database schedule and deletion endpoint.

Deleting provider data creates a minimal tombstone for up to 48 hours while this device's provider rows and credentials are removed. A content-free deletion ledger remains for 40 days so point-in-time restores can be scrubbed; permanent opaque identity and device revocation fences prevent deleted credentials from being reused. They do not contain task, session, Return Bridge, note, or AI-response content.

Deletion does not remove local Moments or the local Return Bridge from your phone and does not cancel an Apple purchase. Restore Purchases restores local Pro only. Full retention and deletion boundaries are in the Privacy Policy.

AI provider and international processing

After explicit connection and current consent, provider requests are sent through Sidle's AWS-hosted service to DeepSeek, which is operated in the People's Republic of China. DeepSeek's public documents do not give Sidle an API-specific no-training or fixed-retention promise, so Sidle does not promise either. Provider services, policies, models, prices, and availability can change.

AI and safety

AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, invented, or unsuitable. Sidle is a focus and body-doubling tool, not medical care, therapy, diagnosis, legal advice, financial advice, or emergency support. Do not rely on Sidle where an error could cause harm.

Static crisis resources are a safety redirect, not a crisis service. Contact local emergency services or a qualified person when urgent help is needed.

Acceptable use

Do not use Sidle unlawfully; attempt to bypass StoreKit verification, fair-use controls, or safety filters; probe or disrupt the service; extract secrets; impersonate another person; or submit content intended to harm people or systems. We may limit server-backed features when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, or service availability.

Availability, warranties, and liability

Sidle is provided on an “as available” basis. Networks, Apple services, and AI providers can fail or change. We do not promise uninterrupted AI output, a particular generated response, or perpetual availability of a provider.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from Sidle. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Changes

We may update Sidle or these terms to improve the service, address security or legal requirements, or reflect provider changes. Material changes will be dated here. If you do not accept an update, stop using Sidle and manage any subscription through Apple.
